Uh oh.. I’ve turned into a pet owner flooding their social media feed with cat pics 📸 😅 there is method to my madness tho…
Sooo when I got Bubba, the beautiful kitty kat in the picture, a few weeks ago, people said ‘put her down’ or ‘give her away’ and ‘she is old she won’t live for long’.
I could potentially have Bubba for 1 week, 1 month of 1 year or 10 years as she is an old cat with thyroid issues and on medication. I don’t know how long she will be around for…the thing is – do we know anything?
Are there guarantees in life in general and do I know how long I will be alive for?
No. All we/I have is now…
Also, does something or someone lose their value cos they are old?
Bubba’s quality of life is very good and she has good medication and she is a happy kitty cat that loves to sleep, lounge around and get cranky if food is not served immediately, have ear scratches quickly! Lol. Here’s to graceful and happy ageing and things not losing their value just cos they are old (humans and cats)…
Cat diary entry #1 by Roxy questioning guarantees in life (there are none) and your value as you age. Does society tie your value to productivity and youth? In some instances, yes…
Here’s to celebrating and embracing each moment. That’s presence, right? For yoga is more than the breathing exercises, the stretchy shapes and clean eating…it is also about connection to here and now, the people and animals around us…that’s yoga too. The art of being here now.
