Rumi: words that soothe

Do you have a favourite poem and poet? One of my favourite poets is Rumi. How my eyes soak up Rumi and feel the words sink into my heart. So beautiful.

Rumi was born in modern day Afghanistan and was a Persian poet. Although he was born in the 13th Century, his love of words that heal live on. Isn’t that amazing? I heard Rumi for the first time in a yoga class…and have loved Rumi ever since.

These are my favourite Rumi quotes that remind me to live and love deeply, even when I don’t always want to!

  • Love is the whole thing, we are the pieces.
  • Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life.
  • Only from the heart can you touch the sky.
  • The wound is the place that the light enters you.

Do you have a favourite poem or poet? Tell me who! I love the power of words.

Hope you love Rumi too. 🙂
